Welcome to the Indiana Paraeducator Support Project

About IPSP

Current News

The Indiana Paraeducator Support Project is a joint initiative between the Indiana Department of Education, Division of Exceptional Learners, and the Indiana University School of Education at IUPUI. Its purpose is to improve special education paraeducator training efforts across Indiana by creating a network of support for existing as well as newly developed local school district initiatives and providing model training program opportunities.

Our intent is to reach both paraeducators and the teachers who supervise them in order to facilitate the use of existing curricula that has been developed by national demonstration projects and other individual experts and that has been tailored to meet the particular needs of Indiana children and youth. The focus topics for training will include those required by Article 7 and as well as those identified in a recent survey of Indiana special education paraeducators.
